New NJDEP Email for HOTSR

Did you know?

On October 18, 2021, the NJDEP published a Notice in the NJ Register and provided a dedicated email address for the submission of forms, applications, and documents required pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:26F, Heating Oil Tank System Remediation (HOTSR) rules.

The dedicated NJDEP email address is srpuhot@dep.nj.gov

It is important to note, that pursuant to the rule, submittal via the email address now becomes mandatory as of January 16, 2022. The Department intends for the email service to allow anyone, including Subsurface Evaluators and Licensed Site Remediation Professionals (LSRPs), to submit required information quickly and efficiently, without needing to submit a paper copy.

Users of the new email system should be aware that there is a maximum size limit of 25 MB. Related documents can be submitted in smaller segments by identifying them with “part 1, 2, 3” etc. The NJDEP has even allowed for an option to provide a drop box link via the email address, so it stands to reason that other file sharing cloud services could also be utilized (e.g. SharePoint, etc.).

Questions on the new submittal process can be directed to the Bureau of Case Assignment and Initial Notice at 609-292-2943.
